Phoenix (Phœnix) dalam mitologi Mesir adalah burung legendaris yang keramat. Burung Api ini digambarkan memiliki bulu yang sangat indah berwarna merah dan keemasan.
Phoenix dikatakan dapat hidup selama 500 atau 1461 tahun. Setelah hidup selama itu, Phoenix membakar dirinya sendiri. Setelah itu, dari abunya, munculah burung Phoenix muda. Siklus hidup burung Phoenix seperti itu (regenerasi), bangkit kembali setelah mati, lalu muncul sebagai sosok yang baru.
Phoenix merupakan simbol dari keabadian, lambang dari siklus kehidupan setelah mati, dan simbol dari kebangkitan tubuh setelah mati.
Phoenix menjadi simbol suci pemujaan terhadap Dewa matahari di Heliopolis, Mesir. Burung Phoenix simbol dari "Dewa Matahari - Ra".Dalam mitologi hindu phoenix juga digambarkan sebagai garuda.
